Kelsey is our new Marketing & Communications Lead, which means she’ll be responding to your inquiries, promoting events programs, and funding opportunities. You’ll also see her out in the community, connecting with artists and arts administrators to help promote our mission and programs.

What is your favorite band? I could say something cool like an obscure Swedish indie band, but it’s Taylor Swift
What are you passionate about? Education – in a non-traditional sense
Do you have any pets? A dog, a cat, and a toddler

Tell us about yourself.
Hi, I’m Kelsey! Rock lover, art enthusiast, new mom, and avid hiker. I was born and raised in Western New York. My first job as a teenager was at a regional Arts & Cultural and I never looked back.

What do you do in your spare time?
I spend a lot of time hiking with a toddler strapped to my back. And I’m not a fair weather hiker – you’ll see me there any day of the week. Plus I’m an aspiring 46er!

What drew you to ASI?
As the Arts Access coordinator at Explore & More, I saw firsthand the impact ASI’s mission has on families in WNY. ASI’s commitment to eliminating barriers and offering opportunities to Arts & Culturals throughout the region aligns with my values as an educator.

What motivates you?

While working toward my undergraduate degree in Education, I became enamored with pedagogies that focus on education outside the walls of a traditional classroom. These third spaces allow us to share our diverse backgrounds and delve into communal learning opportunities. Arts & Culturals throughout Western New York offer these spaces to our community and I look forward to assisting them with “the business side of art.”
