NEW: ASI is now compiling an active list of advocacy action items on our website. These are available for anyone to participate in and will be updated frequently. Some are simple such as adding your signature of support to a proposed piece of legislation and some are more involved such as attending a national conference to advocate on behalf of the arts. Also included will be opportunities for the public to speak on behalf of the arts or arts nonprofits in town hall open forums or other similar events.
Each action item contains a labor involvement level rating so you can ensure that you have the time and capacity to get involv.ed
Here are some examples of advocacy action items that are currently on the list:
- Attend the 2022 Arts Action Summit (More on that in the coming weeks!)
- Endorse the seven Creative Economy bills
- Support omnibus passage of the NEA and NEH budgets
If you have an arts advocacy action item that you would like to list, please email Nicole (Marketing and Communications Manager) at “[email protected]” with details. Please bear in mind that we are an active nonprofit and we are unable to list events pertaining to public elections or general lobbying efforts.
